What type of ribbon is best to use?

We used satin ribbon mostly because we liked the way it looked. The ribbon we used to make the flowers was 3/8 inch wide, while the green ribbon we used to make the stems and leaves was 1/4 inch wide. You can also use patterned ribbon, curling ribbon (the plastic kind used in gift wrapping), or even cut coloured paper strips to make the flowers!

What glue is best for making this ribbon flowers craft?

We love using glue tape, also known as double sided crafter’s tape, because it’s low mess, it sticks well, and has zero drying time. You can also use white glue or tacky glue, but you’ll have to wait for the glue to dry and it gets a bit messy sticking the flower pieces together.

What else can I use to make this craft?

For a change in texture, use a green popsicle stick or a pipe cleaner for the flower’s stem and leaves! Then instead of a button for the center of the flower, add a rhinestone sticker or a pom pom.

What else can I do with this ribbon flowers craft?

Fold a piece of cardstock and add these ribbon flowers to the front of a homemade card for Mother’s Day or any other special occasion. You could also write “HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY” at the top of the paper. Better yet, add your work of art to a picture frame and give these ribbon flowers as a homemade gift!
