Now that summer is starting to wind down, I am so ready for it to be fall, and for the days to start getting cooler. I grew up in a desert, and I’m pretty used to hot summers, but we’ve had a heat wave for the last week that is totally killing me! We had record highs several days last week, and at one point it was predicted that the temperature would get as high as 109 degrees. We’re lucky to have air conditioning where we live, so our house has stayed fairly cool, but going outside is like stepping into a furnace. (I’m sure I will also be crying when I get our electric bill next month.) It has been so hot that even the thought of turning on the oven and heating up our tiny, cramped kitchen makes me miserable. We have been eating lots of sandwiches, take-out, and pizza for dinner, but I’ve had a hard time thinking up desserts that don’t require a hot stove or oven. Considering my undying love of chocolate chip cookies, I decided to see if I could find a no-bake version that would still give me that sweet cookie taste I love. I was browsing Pinterest, and stumbled across this delicious-looking dip from Land O’ Lakes. I made a few small changes to the recipe, and had a delicious dessert in just a few minutes, without turning on the stove or the oven. It’s the perfect recipe for a hot day, but it’s so tasty that you’ll want to eat it all year round!

This recipe is so simple and easy to make, and uses ingredients I almost always have on hand. It’s a favorite with both kids and adults, and the perfect way to satisfy that sweet tooth without heating up the kitchen!

The full recipe is at the bottom of this post, but here’s what you’ll need:

butter cream cheese peanut butter powdered sugar brown sugar vanilla chocolate chips peanut butter chips M&M’s candies

You’ll start by beating together the butter and cream cheese until they’re light and fluffy. Next, add the brown sugar, powdered sugar, and vanilla, and beat it until combined. Make sure to beat out any lumps in the brown sugar, so the mixture is creamy and smooth.

Next, it’s time to add your chocolate chips and candies. Feel free to sample a few for yourself, for quality-control purposes. 🙂

Fold the candies in, then refrigerate the dip until it’s ready to serve. It keeps pretty well in the fridge, so you can easily make it ahead of time for a party or get-together.

I sprinkled a few extra candies on top to make the dip extra festive, then served it with animal crackers, apple slices, and vanilla wafers. I think it would also be really tasty with pretzels or graham crackers, too. My favorite way to eat it was with the apple slices, but my kids loved it with the animal crackers. It was the perfect dessert for our family movie night!

This dip is so light and fluffy and sweet, and has an amazing cookie dough taste. I’m warning you, though, it is totally dangerous to have around. Make sure to invite some friends over, so you don’t end up eating the whole bowl by yourself!

This peanut butter cookie dough dip would be super fun to customize with any kind of baking chips or chopped candy. I think it would be delicious with chopped Reese’s, Snickers, shredded coconut, and/or toffee chips. I’m also dreaming about a version with nutella instead of peanut butter. The sky’s the limit!

This sweet and delicious peanut butter cookie dough dip is so addicting! It’s perfect with fresh apple slices, animal crackers, or pretzels!
