I love recreating that smell in my house! Whether it’s with Christmas baking (rarely), Christmas candles (sometimes), or this simple recipe simmering on my stove top (usually). It’s so easy to make that Christmas baking smell without the effort of actually baking anything! I don’t know what it is about the smell of cinnamon, but it just makes the whole house smell like Christmas! My mom has perfected this recipe and it is so simple, but it makes the whole house smell delicious! There is something about it that just makes you feel warm and fuzzy.
It’s so easy to make that Christmas baking smell! This is all it is:
One stick of cinnamon six cloves one bay leaf 4 cups of water
Bring it all to a boil, and keep it at a low simmer all day. Be sure to monitor the water level, and add more water as it simmers off. (This also has the added benefit of adding more humidity to your home in the dry winter months.) It will smell amazing all day and even a second day if you want. (That’s the limit though. There won’t be much fragrance left after two days).
This is completely natural, free of chemicals, all with ingredients that I keep in my pantry. You can make that Christmas baking smell without having to bake a thing! Thanks Mom! XOXO
