I love having the kids home during summer. I always look forward to spending more quality time with them since I have them home all day and we tend to keep our agenda pretty free during the summer months. However, I don’t love the boredom that seems to overtake my children so quickly. In the past, I have been tempted to turn to technology to keep them occupied but that can get out of hand so easily. This summer, we have tried to implement no screen time except for a family movie night once a week. I thought it would be impossible, but so far we have been to do it! The kids have complained a little, but they have found creative ways to keep themselves occupied. We have found ourselves doing way more crafts this summer, which I love! These paper pineapples are something that my girls went crazy over. They are easy enough to make themselves and so simple that they look adorable every time. I love how each pineapple has it’s own little personality. These 3D pineapples would also make a fun card for a summer birthday or even for Father’s Day! You won’t believe how easy they are to create.
I loved these paper strawberries and was inspired to create a pineapple version that could be turned into party decor or a card.
Paper Pineapples
The full instructions are at the bottom of this post, but here is what you will need:
Card stock or construction paper Scissors Adhesive roller or glue stick
First, you will want to fold your yellow card stock or construction paper in half and cut out 4-5 ovals.
Draw “U” shapes on the ovals for a simple pineapple detail!
Using your adhesive roller or glue stick, attach one of the ovals to the other one while they are still folded in half, wrong sides together.
Keep attaching the folded ovals together in the same manner until they are all attached.
Cut a green pineapple top out and attach it to a contrasting color of card stock.
Attach the pineapple using more glue and you are finished!
These pineapples are SO cute and can be used in so many different ways!
Each one looks a little different which is why we love this craft so much!
