No-Sew Halloween Plushies
With a few pieces of felt, our free printable template and a glue gun you can make one of these cuties in about 20 minutes. Grab our free printable template down below! I used to love sewing, I really did. But somehow with kids, I just don’t seem to have the time to sew anything more than the arms, wings, legs, etc. that annoyingly fall off the the made-in-china stuffed animals my kids smother with love. Which is why I LOVE using glue guns to make things like these plushies. It’s SO EASY – and the best part – my kids are seriously amazed by my amazingly awesome plushie making skills when I’m done. Seriously, they are so impressed. I don’t bother telling them how easy these plushies are to make!

What can I use to stuff the plushies?
We used cotton balls to stuff these plushies. Each plushie needs about 8 to 10 regular sized cotton balls (mine are just from the dollar store). Just make sure you pull apart the cotton balls before you stuff them in – otherwise your plushie will be lumpy. You can also use the stuffing from an old, flattened pillow. You know those old pillows that are too flat to use, but you feel too guilty to throw them away? They’re great for crafts! Cut open an end and use the stuffing to fill your plushie.
How did you get the blue outline around the ghost?
I used a blue Sharpie to outline all the edges of the ghost when I was done making it. Just to make it pop more. The Sharpie is permanent and doesn’t come off onto your hands. You can even use a Sharpie to draw the faces onto the plushies if you don’t want to cut out felt pieces for each face.
Do I have to use a glue gun?
White glue and most other types of crafting glue will not work. If you love sewing, feel free to sew these little guys! But I recommend keeping the stitches on the outside. The felt tends to look really bulky when you sew it, and turn it inside out to hide the seams.
Is glue from a glue gun really strong enough to hold felt together?
Yes! The glue from a glue gun sticks felt together really really well. Unless you’re really good at sewing, I would say it’s even stronger than using thread and sewing it.

See!? There’s zero sewing. None. It’s SUPER SIMPLE to make one of these little guys! Using a glue gun is easier (and much faster) than sewing, and it holds the felt together perfectly!
