We’ve got two different ways to make glitter slime — one with clear glue and loose glitter, and another using glitter glue straight from the bottle. Both are super easy and create gorgeous, sparkly slime that’s perfect for kids, tweens, teens, or even adults who can’t resist a little sparkle therapy!
Helpful Tips:
What type of glitter should I use for glitter slime?
Glitter slimes can be made with any type of glitter, so go ahead and use your favourites! We like to use a combination of fine glitter and chunky glitter so it has lots of sparkle. Try adding fine glitter first to get a base of shimmery slime, then add chunkier glitter to amp up the glitz! We also found holographic glitters stand out even more in the slime, because of the colour changing reflection.
Can I make this glittery slime with glitter glue instead of clear glue?
Absolutely! We made a second batch of glitter slime using the same process, but without adding extra loose glitter. Just follow step 5 in the recipe card above. You can adjust the recipe, adding more contact solution if you like your slime more firm and less “slimey” and stretchy.
What else can I add to my glitter slime?
There are so many options for different scents and textures to add to your sparkle slime! You can even combine different items to create a themed glittery slime!
Colour your slime pale blue and add snowflake chunky glitter and fine white iridescent glitter to make Frozen themed slime. Add turquoise or green and blue food colouring, ocean breeze essential oil, and mermaid and sea shell charms to make mermaid themed slime. Make fairy slime by adding flower and fairy charms to your pink or purple shimmery slime, along with your favourite floral fragrance oil.
These glitter slime recipes are pure sparkly fun, and they’re SO EASY to make! Whether you’re using glitter glue or adding loose glitter to clear glue, you’ll end up with a stretchy, shimmery masterpiece that’s a blast to play with. Kids will love making this seriously magical slime!
