Do I have to use a paper punch to make these turkey treats?
If you have a paper punch it’s a lot easier to make these turkey treats, and it ensures that each feather circle is consistent. But if you don’t have the punch, you can definitely still make this craft! Use a compass or trace an object for the circular base and then cut out the feather shapes by hand. You can start with a scalloped circle shape, or just cut individual feathers to glue together.
What type of paper is best for the Hershey Kiss turkey feathers?
We used a combination of construction paper, coloured printer paper, and cardstock to get the colours we wanted. Thinner paper bends better to look more like feathers, but you can use any or all of these options. Just make sure that the cardstock you’re using isn’t too thick, because the paper punch won’t cut through it nicely.
Can I still make these turkey treats if I don’t have felt?
Yes, if you don’t have felt you can definitely still make these turkey favours. Simply use the same paper from the feathers to create the turkey’s beak and wattle! Or, if you prefer a look with more dimension, use craft foam sheets instead.
