What type of paper is best for this Groundhog Day pop up craft?
Cardstock is the best option because it’s both sturdy and able to be printed on by a standard home printer. If you don’t have cardstock, you can print our template on regular printer paper and trace it onto construction paper. You can also try using regular printer paper, but it may not be sturdy enough for a good pop-up effect.
Can I still make a pop up groundhog craft if I only have white cardstock?
Absolutely! Just print both the templates on white cardstock. Then you can trace the base template onto green construction paper, or colour it in with markers, coloured pencils, or crayons.
What if my glue isn’t holding the groundhog pop up enough?
If your Groundhog Day templates pop right off the page, you can place a small strip of clear scotch tape to connect the tab to the base. It shouldn’t be visible from the front and will provide extra hold to the pop up elements!
This groundhog pop-up craft is popping up as the perfect way to celebrate Groundhog Day! Our delightful design is sure to bring a smile, whether it’s propped up in a reading nook, added to a shelf in a child’s room, or used to decorate a party snack table.
