What paper is best for making this monster craft?
We like using construction paper for making these monsters. It’s inexpensive, there’s plenty of colours to choose from, and the paper adds a bit of texture to the monsters. You can also use coloured printer paper or cardstock to make a super cute monster. You can even start with white paper and then colour the monsters with crayons, colored pencils, or markers.
What glue is used for these construction paper monsters?
We used glue tape (double sided tape that comes in a dispenser roll) to make our paper monsters. We love glue tape because it’s so easy to use and very low mess. A glue stick would also work well. You can even use regular white glue, but then you’ll have to wait for it to dry.

The great thing about monsters is that you can make them look however you want! Here are some basic features that each monster can have:
What else can I do with this paper monster craft?
Give your paper monster movable arms by attaching them with brads (aka paper fasteners). You could also add pipe cleaner tentacles by taping them to the back, or twisting them through a hole made by a single hole punch. Turn your paper monsters into puppets by gluing them to popsicle sticks. Or attach them to a string garland with clothespins for a fun party or Halloween decoration!
