This awesome snowflake can be made from only TWO pipe cleaners. How simple is that!? You can use sparkly pipe cleaners like I did here, or you can use regular fuzzy pipe cleaners. They both end up looking really pretty! These ornaments look beautiful on the Christmas tree, but they also make a great present topper. Attach them to your presents along with a gift tag and bow as a fun and thoughtful decoration on your Christmas gifts. I love adding a little extra touch to presents, and a homemade ornament is so special!
Once you learn the easy technique to making the snowflakes in the tutorial below, you can switch it up and try to make a different snowflake pattern. Make your pieces smaller or larger. Add more pieces. Place them somewhere else on the snowflake. See what you can come up with! One of the best things about these easy snowflakes is that just like a real snowflake, you can make them in all sorts of different patterns, sizes and colours. I’m always amazed to see the awesome things the kids end up making when they have a chance to be creative!

How to make Pipe Cleaner Snowflake Ornaments:
12 inch Sparkly Pipe Cleaners (2 Blue) Thin Metallic Cord Scissors
Pipe cleaner ornaments are so simple and only require a few supplies! Grab a blue pipe cleaner and cut it into 3 equal pieces.
Take all 3 pipe cleaner pieces and line them up so the ends are even. Twist all three pipe cleaners together at the center. Make sure you twist them two or three times so everything stays together.
Spread out each of the pipe cleaners evenly into a star shape like in the photo below.
Take another pipe cleaner and cut it into 6 equal pieces. If your pipe cleaners are 12 inches long, each piece will be 2 inches.
Take one of the 2 inch pipe cleaner pieces and twist it around one of the pipe cleaner ends in the star shape you made. Twist it so there’s an equal length of pipe cleaner on both sides. Bend the ends outwards to make a V shape. Then repeat these steps for all 6 points on your snowflake.
Your snowflake is complete! So simple, so pretty and you only need 2 pipe cleaners! Tie some string around one of the snowflake points and it’s ready to hang on the Christmas tree.
