What size crochet witch hat does this pattern make?
This crochet witches hat is 4 inches tall with a brim that’s 4 inches wide. The exact size of the hat will, of course, depend on your yarn type (we used Loops and Threads Soft Classic) and tension.
Can I adjust this crochet witch hat pattern to fit an adult?
Yes, it’s very easy to make this hat larger. Simply add more increase rows to the cone part of the hat until you’re happy with the size. Then continue with the brim part of the pattern. You’ll add 6 increases per round until the brim is proportional to the cone.
What can I do with a mini crochet witch hat?
These witch hats look adorable on display, but you can also turn it into a wearable hat. Simply attach the hat to a barrette or headband (like in the photo above!) to create an adorable hair accessory for Halloween or a costume party. Or add straps to the hat to turn it into a cat hat (see adorable — yet dignified — Chester, above)! Make sure to always supervise your feline friend around yarn toys or accessories. To add the ties, chain 30 into a stitch on the last cone row, on the inside where the brim starts. Repeat on the opposite side to make a second tie. You can also attach a yarn hanger to the top of the hat to make floating witch hat decorations! Plus, this witch hat is the perfect size to fit on a crochet ghost. They look so cute together!
These crochet witch hats are enchantingly cute! They make an awesome homemade gift or item for a fall craft fair, and you can whip one up in 30 minutes or less. We used a dark charcoal grey for the main part of the hat, but you can definitely use the classic black. Then use fun Halloween colours, like purple, orange, and lime green, as the accent!
