How do I crochet a half spider web?
You can follow roughly the same concept to make a corner style of spiderweb. Begin by inserting 5 single crochet into a magic circle. Pull the circle tight, but don’t close it off with a slip stitch. Then as you follow the pattern, instead of slip stitching and working in rounds, you’ll work in rows, turning your work each time. This will give you a 4 sectioned half-web, instead of an 8 sectioned round web.
What size is this crochet spider web? Can I make the web bigger?
When stretched out, the crochet spider web from our pattern is approximately 15 inches in size. You can easily make the web bigger by adding more rows. To do this, increase the number of chain in-between the triple crochets, adding 3 per row. For example, if the last row had 24 chains per section, the next will have 27, then 30, etc.
What’s the best yarn to make a crochet spider web?
You can use either acrylic or cotton yarn to make your spider web. We recommend using a thinner yarn like sport (size 2) or DK (size 3). This will give you a thinner, more realistic spider web. We used worsted weight (size 4) yarn, since that’s what we had in our stash, and it also worked well.
Do I need to block my crochet spider web?
If you’re going to stretch the web onto a window or wall, you can leave it as is. The proper shape will take form by stretching out each string. But if you’re going to hang the web or set it on a table, we do recommend wet blocking the web first.
This crochet spider web is a great way to get into the Halloween spirit! It’s super easy to make in 2 different styles, and it’s a beginner friendly and fun project for the spooky season. Use the spiderweb as a table decoration, hang the web in a corner, drape it over a pumpkin, or even make a smaller spider web to use as a coaster!
