One of my goals for this holiday season is to deliberately slow down and enjoy the little moments. Every year, it seems like the holidays go by so fast, and it’s all just a blur! This year, for the first time, we won’t be spending the holidays with my extended family, so it will just be my own little family at home. Instead of rushing around and trying to pack in every last bit of holiday fun, I’m hoping to have a lot of happy, peaceful moments with my kids and husband. With that in mind, I think my kids and I will be doing lots of baking together this season! Baking is always a good stress relief for me, and it’s so fun to be able to share it with my girls. I love seeing the looks on their faces when they taste our creations! These cranberry white chocolate blondies are a perfect recipe for baking with kids. The dough is easy to mix together, using ingredients that can always be found in my pantry and fridge. I love that they’re baked into bars, so you can skip the bother and mess of shaping the individual cookies. Best of all, these blondies are totally delicious!
Cranberry White Chocolate Blondies
The full recipe is at the bottom of this post, but here’s what you’ll need:
butter sugar brown sugar eggs vanilla flour baking soda salt dried cranberries white chocolate chips
The dough is easy and quick to mix up. I usually mix it with my stand mixer, but it’s easy to mix by hand as well. The dough will be thick and soft, and should hold together well.
After the dough is mixed, you’ll press it into your prepared baking dish. Lining the dish with parchment or foil makes it easy to lift the blondies out when they’re finished baking, and also makes cleanup a snap!
Next, you’ll bake the blondies until golden brown. They smell amazing while they’re baking! My kids were playing downstairs when I put the blondies in the oven, and they both came upstairs to ask about the wonderful smell that was wafting down.
I know it’s a real challenge to wait when they smell so good, but it’s a good idea to let them cool completely before cutting them up. I was a little impatient and cut mine too early, and the blondies did not cut as neatly as I would like. They taste delicious either way, but if you want nice clean lines, wait until they’ve cooled!
The blondies are crisp on the outside, warm and gooey in the middle, and full of white chocolate chips and cranberries. The combination of flavors is so delicious!
These bars will stay fresh for 3-4 days after baking, so they’re a great make-ahead treat! They’re so delicious that they tend to disappear fast, though. 🙂 These cranberry white chocolate blondies are a must-make!
