Who else absolutely loves the smell of banana bread? When I was a kid, I was best friends with the little girl who lived next door to me, and I spent quite a bit of time at her house. Her mom totally loved to bake, and made fresh bread at least two or three times a week. She also made cookies, biscuits, sweet breads, and all kinds of other treats. Their house always smelled absolutely delicious, with the scents of baked goods wafting around, and sometimes I would just sit in her kitchen and breathe in all of the deliciousness. My own mom has never really enjoyed baking, so it was definitely a novel experience for me. I always dreamed of my own house smelling like baked goods when I grew up, and I think I’ve done a pretty good job of accomplishing that goal. (Maybe too good a job, if I’m being perfectly honest!) Most days when my kids come home from school, they ask me what smells so good, and if they can have some of it for their snack. There’s something so comforting about the smell of home-baked breads or treats… there is just nothing like it!
I think banana bread is definitely one of the best-smelling baked goods, and this cinnamon streusel banana bread is absolute perfection. The flavors of banana and cinnamon blend together in the oven to make such a delicious and fragrant loaf. This banana bread is totally irresistible. If you want your house to smell heavenly, then this banana bread is definitely the way to go!
Cinnamon Streusel Banana Bread
The full recipe is at the bottom of this post, but here’s what you’ll need:

Banana bread is one of those classic recipes that everyone and their grandma has a recipe for, but this cinnamon streusel banana bread is definitely the best I’ve ever tried! I’ve made it dozens of times, and it always comes out perfectly for me. It’s super easy to make, and doesn’t require any weird ingredients, so I make it any time I have some bananas on my counter that are getting a little too ripe. It’s the best!
I always line my loaf pan with a little parchment paper, but you could line it with foil instead if you prefer. It makes it easier to lift the loaf out, and also makes the loaf pan much easier to clean, which I love. It’s not strictly necessary, but I am all about anything that saves me time and energy!
The banana bread will hold together much better if you let it cool nearly to room temperature before slicing it, although it smells so good that it’s hard to wait!
This cinnamon streusel banana bread is perfect for snacking, dessert, or even breakfast! It makes absolutely amazing french toast, but it’s perfectly delicious just cut into slices. It will stay fresh for several days in a zipper bag, or wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
This is definitely some of the best banana bread I’ve ever had! The cinnamon streusel on top is to die for, and it adds a nice crunch and a sweet burst of cinnamon flavor to the bread. It is so delicious!
This delicious and flavorful cinnamon streusel banana bread has a light and tender texture, the perfect banana flavor, and a sweet cinnamon crunch!
